What We Do

Our Programs

Three core programs designed to remove every barrier between an athlete and the game they love.

No athlete sits out because of gear

Equipment Assistance

We collect, refurbish, and distribute hockey equipment to athletes who need it. From skates and sticks to full goalie equipment, we make sure every player is properly equipped.

  • Skates, helmets, pads, and sticks
  • Full goalie equipment kits
  • Equipment refurbishment and cleaning
  • Sizing and fitting support
  • Ongoing equipment needs assessment

Registration Assistance

Registration fees shouldn't be a barrier to participation. We work with leagues, associations, and families to cover the cost of registration so players can stay on the ice.

Growth Opportunities

Beyond equipment and registration, we invest in the long-term development of athletes through clinics, mentorship, coaching pathways, and leadership programs.

  • Skills development clinics
  • Mentorship with current/former players
  • Coaching certification support
  • Leadership development programs
  • Community ambassador opportunities

Special Initiatives

Beyond the Basics

2nd Chance Program

For adults who never had the opportunity to play hockey as children. We provide equipment and connect participants with beginner adult leagues.

Indigenous Community Partnerships

Working with Indigenous communities across Canada to bring hockey to underserved regions, respecting cultural values and community leadership.

Goalie Initiative

Goalie equipment is the most expensive in hockey. Our dedicated goalie program ensures no team goes without a properly equipped goaltender.

International Outreach

Shipping equipment to emerging hockey communities in Jamaica, Kenya, India, Iceland, Serbia, and Argentina, growing the game globally.

Next Shift Hockey Canada 5 Year Anniversary

Providing equipment and financial assistance so every athlete can access the game they love.

Together, we can.

Next Shift Hockey Canada acknowledges that our home base in Limoges, Ontario, is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and play on these lands and recognize the enduring presence, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

As an organization dedicated to creating opportunities through sport, we believe that learning about the history, traditions, and communities of the land we are on is an important step toward understanding, respect, and reconciliation.

Whether you are joining us in Ottawa, Eastern Ontario, or elsewhere across Canada and around the world, we encourage you to take time to learn whose traditional territory you are on, connect with local Indigenous communities, and deepen your understanding of their history, culture, and ongoing contributions.

Together, through respect, education, and inclusion, we can help build stronger communities both on and off the ice.
